Overnight extraction clean in Leeds City Centre
A busy city-centre kitchen whose extraction ductwork had years of baked-on grease inside it — and almost no way to get at it. Most of the duct run was sealed with no access points, so previous cleaning attempts had only ever touched what could be seen from the canopy. We surveyed the system, created the access ourselves, and cleaned the whole extraction path back to bare metal without the kitchen losing a single service.
- Full survey of the extraction system, mapping every run of ductwork from the canopy through to the extraction fan
- Installed 8 new access doors along the duct run so every section could be reached, cleaned and inspected properly
- Worked overnight, right through the small hours, so the kitchen opened the next morning completely unaffected
- Scraped and chemically degreased the ductwork by hand, then steam-extracted the full system back to bare metal
- Dated before-and-after photos and a full compliance report provided for the client's records and fire risk assessor
Result: The client was over the moon. They'd been carrying a hidden fire risk above their kitchen for years without knowing it — now it's gone, the system is documented, and they told us they finally feel completely at ease.
